There are many reasons people don’t start or stick to a workout program…
They don’t know where to start, they don’t see results right away, they don’t have the time, they’ll start tomorrow, I can’t get to the gym, everyone will stare at me because I don’t know what I am doing. It goes on and on.
So, what excuse are you giving yourself so that you don’t feel like you are failing yourself? If you don’t know where to start…..you can start with a FREE consultation from a fitness professional (often times, like me, they are free). You won’t see the results you want in a week or a month because it takes consistency and a lifetime change not a temporary one. You have time for what you make time for, it doesn’t have to be a long workout to be effective. Tomorrow never comes, you know that by now so stop fooling yourself. You don’t need a gym membership, there are other options from home. The only people staring at you are the ones who are there for the wrong reasons or someone who is admiring you for walking in in the first place (btw, you’re opinion is the only one that matters) take the help of people who notice you are maybe doing something wrong, they want to see you succeed, not hurt yourself.
Excuses are great if you never want to improve. I am a mom of two, I have worked an 8-5 full time job while having a kid in NICU and still managed to be there for her and take care of me. When I became a mom of 2 I had to make a new habit of 25-30 min workouts at home, in my living room and guess what, I lost the weight and felt like me again.
There will be choices to make. Do I watch the TV or workout? Do I go to bed early so I can get up early? Do I hit the gym and make it non-negotiable? Do I want to settle for my second best? If you really want something, find a way to do it, not a way out. I LOVE to help with this and asking me a few questions ONLY takes some time….no money involved.
